KAKAMEGA, Kenya — The “Law Enforcers” of Kenya Police FC landed in Western Kenya for their final assignment of the year: a high-stakes Matchday 15 Kenya Premier League (KPL) encounter against Kakamega Homeboyz at the Bukhungu Stadium.

With the 2025 calendar closing this week, Kenya Police enter this match with a massive opportunity to solidify their place among the elite.

Currently sitting in 6th place with 21 points, the defending champions are breathing down the necks of joint-leaders Gor Mahia and Tusker FC.

Captain Ochieng: “Focus Until the Final Whistle”

While talking to the club Media, Police FC captain David “Cheche” Ochieng emphasized the importance of mental discipline. The veteran defender, who led the team to their historic maiden league title earlier this year, warned against “holiday fever” before the job is done.
”Bukhungu is a fortress, and Homeboyz are never easy to beat in front of their fans,” Ochieng stated. “But we are the champions for a reason. My message to the boys is simple: stay focused for 90 minutes. We want to finish this historic year with three points and head into 2026 with momentum.” Cheche said.

Reflecting on the pressure of being the defending champions, Ochieng added:
“We have to go for the league. We know what it takes to be champions and we believe in ourselves. Winning it again would be the perfect reward for everyone at the club. But first, we must finish 2025 with three points.”

Why The Match Matters
The match is not just a regular league game; it’s a battle of the elites.

The Standings: Kenya Police (21 pts) are looking to punish any slip-ups from the top two. Meanwhile, Kakamega Homeboyz (20 pts) are right on their heels in 8th place. A win for the hosts would see them overtake the Police in the final standings of the year.

The Record: Kenya Police FC enters this game as the current FKF Premier League titleholders, having clinched their first-ever championship earlier this year. To keep their defense alive, maximum points at Bukhungu is a must.
