Two exciting matches in the FUFA Regional Promotional Playoffs return-leg clashes have seen CATDA FC and Iganga United Football Club secure promotion to the FUFA Big League for the 2025/26 season.

CATDA FC Edges Super Eagles Lugongwe
CATDA FC emerged victorious over Super Eagles Lugongwe with a 2-1 win in the second leg of their tie, played at the MTN Omondi Stadium in Lugogo on June 22nd. The goals from Hadad Kambugu and Michael Abura proved to be the difference-makers, as CATDA FC advanced on a 3-2 aggregate score. Coach Hamidu Kibirango’s tactics played a significant role in the team’s success, marking a historic moment for the club.

Iganga United Defeats Tapoh FC
Iganga United Football Club also secured promotion after edging Tapoh FC 2-0 in the return leg of their regional league promotional playoff. Innocent Matege James’ brace in the 38th and 48th minutes sealed a 3-1 aggregate win, earning Iganga United a spot in the upcoming FUFA Big League season.

Both teams will join the ranks of top-tier clubs in Ugandan football, looking to make their mark in the 2025/26 season.
