In a thrilling opening day of the UMOSPOC Kabalega Hoima Rally, Musa Ssegaabwe sent shockwaves through the competition, clinching the top spot with a blazing total time of 0:41:52:04 across four stages in Hoima.

The Mitsubishi Lancer Evolution 9 driver started strong with a second-place finish in the first section, then took no prisoners, dominating the second and third stages to seize the lead.
Duncan Mubiru ‘Kikankane,’ fought hard, but Ssegaabwe was unstoppable. Joseph Kamya, co-driving Mubiru, settled for second place with a total time of 0:42:17:47, just 25 seconds off the pace.

Umar Dauda secured third position (0:43:39:62), while current championship leader Ronald Ssebuguzi had a more cautious start, finishing fourth. With the pressure mounting, will other crews bounce back tomorrow or will Ssegaabwe continue his charge toward the top?
Seventeen crews made it through day one, and the battle intensifies! Tomorrow, they tackle four more grueling sections to decide the 2025 National Rally Championship winner.
