Ugandan football supporters now have a fresh and electrifying pathway to the Africa Cup of Nations, after MTN unveiled a bold nationwide campaign that turns everyday fan passion into a ticket to Morocco.

Unveiled at FUFA Kadiba Stadium in Mengo, the initiative transforms routine MTN bundle purchases into potential boarding passes for 50 lucky supporters who will fly out to support the Uganda Cranes at the continent’s biggest football stage. Fans who activate any MTN bundle before December 21 automatically enter weekly televised draws that will air every Sunday evening on Bukedde TV, FUFA TV, NBS and NTV.

But this year, MTN is going far beyond simple draws ushering in a fan-engagement carnival that stretches from futsal courts to TikTok screens. A heated Inter-Alumni Futsal showdown featuring giants like SMACK, Ndejje, Mengo, Kabalega OBs, Buddo, MACOS, Kibuli and Uganda Martyrs Namugongo is already sparking friendly school rivalries, with only one team earning a coveted spot on the Morocco-bound list. The final will be played on December 13 at Akamwesi Mall.

More fans will battle for tickets through a highly competitive dribble challenge where the best male and female finalists will be selected while others will enter through a TikTok-based futsal contest staged in teams of four.

MTN’s John Paul Okwi revealed that the digital front will be equally active, with online fan challenges offering rewards such as airtime, mobile money and Gaga bundles.

“We want supporters to feel closer to their heroes,” added segment manager Martin Mwesige. “This is about giving passionate Ugandans a chance to experience the Cranes’ journey firsthand in Morocco.”

The launch attracted FUFA officials, alumni leaders, prominent fan groups led by Kamodo and several Cranes players including Moses Aliro. FUFA second vice president Dr. Azah Taibu praised the initiative and urged supporters to maintain their energy.

“The Cranes embody national pride,” Taibu said. “With fans behind them, we believe the team can rise even higher.”

MTN’s campaign now sets the stage for a month-long fan celebration one where loyalty, creativity and football passion could land supporters in the stands of Africa’s grandest football theatre.
