Rally driver Hassan Alwi wrapped up his racing calendar with a win at the MOSAC Autocross and Enduro Challenge on Saturday, and his team is hungry for more.
With a brand-new Ford Fiesta Proto, Alwi and navigator Musa Nsubuga have been testing the waters literally in three events: Kayunga-Bugerere rally, Gulu rally, and the Kitogoma Autocross in Buikwe District. They clocked 7 minutes and 11.1 seconds to win the Autocross, landing fourth behind him was Umar Dauda (7:19.1) and Edson Mungereza (7:30.2) in second and third position respectively.

Nsubuga is confident they’ve proven the car’s mettle, topping four positions in all three events. “Next year, we’re going all in racing the full calendar and aiming for the National Rally Championship title,” he said. The holdup in the past? Missing some races. Now, they’re ready. Alwi, who started rallying in 2014/2015, is now ready to chase that elusive NRC title.
The Autocross also crowned champions: Edson Mungereza took the ‘Open’ category, while Humphrey Kawuki ruled the Rookies category.
