Kenya’s football giants, Gor Mahia FC (The Green Army), are making headlines off the pitch this week after officially announcing a major new sponsorship deal that injects crucial financial muscle into the club.

The club has secured a one-year renewable contract with paint manufacturer Kansai Plascon Kenya to become its official sleeve sponsor.
The deal is valued at an impressive Ksh 5 Million, which translates to approximately UGX 140 Million.

A Strategic Financial Win
This is a landmark moment for Gor Mahia’s commercial strategy. While the club already has a main shirt sponsor, securing a premium sleeve spot confirms its rising brand value and attractiveness to corporate giants.

The new revenue stream is a massive boost for the club’s financial stability, helping them put an end to the historical challenges of delayed salaries and operational funding gaps. “Gor Mahia is more than just a football club it is a symbol of passion, resilience, and Kenyan pride,” noted Kansai Plascon’s Managing Director, Kota Enami, confirming the strength of the club’s brand in the region.

Investing in the Future
Crucially, the funds are not just for the senior men’s team. The agreement mandates that the sponsorship will also support the development of Gor Mahia Youth FC and the Gor Mahia Queens (the women’s team).

This holistic investment ensures the club’s long-term health and sets a high standard for professionalization across East African football.

With financial stability now firmly in place, the Green Army is fully focused on delivering results on the pitch, aiming to translate this boardroom success into KPL titles and continental glory.

The Green Army are set to take on Kakamega Homeboys Wednesday at Kasarani Stadium.
