Monday’s Kenya Premier League (KPL) action was defined by individual brilliance and high-stakes drama as the 2025 calendar year nears its conclusion.

With Matchday 15 entering its final stages, the battle for both the Golden Boot and league survival took center stage.

Odhiambo Takes Control of Golden Boot Race
The performance of the day came from the Ulinzi Complex, where Paul Okoth Odhiambo put on a masterclass. The clinical forward netted a stunning hat-trick to lead Ulinzi Stars to a dominant 3-0 victory over Posta Rangers.

The three goals were not just vital for the Soldiers’ league position; they also propelled Odhiambo to the top of the KPL scoring charts. He now leads the race with nine goals, pulling two goals ahead of Murang’a SEAL’s Joe Waithera.

For Ulinzi, the win provides a much-needed boost, moving them up to 14th on the log as they look to climb away from the danger zone.

Waithera Shines in Murang’a SEAL’s Away Win
In Kericho, Murang’a SEAL proved too strong for Mara Sugar FC, securing a 3-1 win on the road. Joe Waithera continued his own fine form with a brace. Lucas Maina added the third for the visitors, while Jimmy Owil grabbed a late consolation for the Sugar Millers.

Drama in Kakamega as Police FC Fritter Lead
One of the most intense matches of the day saw Kenya Police FC settle for a 2-2 draw against Kakamega Homeboyz at the Bukhungu Stadium.

Police FC looked to be in total control after racing to a 2-0 halftime lead, but the home side showed incredible resilience, fighting back to score twice in the second half, denying the law-enforcers a chance to close the gap on the league leaders.
The draw leaves Police FC in 4th place, missing a golden opportunity to leapfrog into the top three.

Stalemate at the Bottom
The clash between Sofapaka FC and Kariobangi Sharks ended in a disappointing 0-0 draw. In a game of few chances, neither side could find the breakthrough, leaving both teams firmly entrenched in the relegation battle as the year ends.

The Grand Finale: Bidco vs. AFC Leopards
The 15th round of the KPL concludes tomorrow, Tuesday, December 23, with a massive clash at Kasarani Stadium. Bidco United will host AFC Leopards in what will be the final KPL game of 2025. A win for Ingwe could see them finish the year level on points with the league leaders, setting up an explosive start to 2026.

Monday KPL Results:
Ulinzi Stars 3-0 Posta Rangers
Mara Sugar 1-3 Murang’a SEAL
Kakamega Homeboyz 2-2 Police FC
Sofapaka 0-0 Kariobangi Sharks

Tuesday Fixture:
BIDCO Utd vs AFC Leopards, 3pm
