Ugandan star Mustafa Kizza stole the headlines in the Kenya Premier League (KPL) on Saturday, scoring a sensational “Olimpico”—a goal directly from a corner kick—to inspire Nairobi United to a clinical 3-0 victory over Bidco United at the Ulinzi Sports Complex.
Kizza’s 20th-minute strike was a masterclass in precision. The former KCCA FC and Montreal Impact left-back curled the ball high into the air, watching as it swerved past the stranded Bidco goalkeeper and into the far corner of the net. Scoring directly from a corner is one of football’s rarest feats, and doing so for his first goal for the club immediately endeared the Ugandan international to the Nairobi United faithful.

The momentum stayed with the hosts as Kevin Wangaya doubled the lead in the 72nd minute, before league star Benson Omalla added a third in the 88th minute to seal the rout. The win moves Nairobi United to 9th on the log with 28 points.
Bronson Nsubuga’s Shabana Stuned Tusker in Kisii as the “Glamour Boys” kept their title hopes alive with a hard-fought 1-0 win over the Brewers at a packed Gusii Stadium.
Nsubuga was introduced in the second half, providing much-needed energy and tactical discipline as Shabana held off a late Tusker charge to secure the three points, which kept them in 3rd place with 37 points, just six points behind league leaders Gor Mahia.
Elsewhere, Ugandan veteran William Wadri and Bandari FC emerged victorious from a five-goal rollercoaster at the St. Sebastian Stadium. In a tense away fixture, the Dockers managed to outlast Murang’a SEAL 3-2.
The result is a major boost for Bandari, who climb to 6th on the table with 31 points, leapfrogging Kenya Police FC and keeping the top five within touching distance.

Gor Mahia remains the team to beat at the summit with 43 points. At the bottom, the pressure is mounting on Sofapaka FC (14 points) and Bidco United (16 points), both of whom find themselves deep in the relegation zone after today’s results.
