BUL FC delivered a dominant performance as they thrashed Calvary FC 5-1 in a Uganda Premier League clash played at the FUFA Technical Centre.

The emphatic victory lifts BUL to eighth place on the Uganda Premier League table with 26 points, while Calvary’s difficult campaign continued as they remain rooted at the bottom with just five points.

BUL wasted little time asserting their dominance and took the lead in the 19th minute when Jerome Kirya finished off a move created by Nicholas Mwere. The hosts doubled their advantage seven minutes later after Isaac Wagoina calmly converted from the penalty spot to make it 2-0.

With the momentum firmly on their side, BUL continued to press forward and extended the lead in the 35th minute. Karim Ndugwa found the back of the net after being set up by Reagan Kalyowa, putting the home side in complete control of the contest.

Calvary managed to pull one back five minutes before halftime through Junior Emmanuel Ojok, whose goal briefly gave the visitors hope of a comeback. However, BUL quickly reasserted their authority in the second half.

Wagoina struck again in the 61st minute, finishing off a well-worked move assisted by Ibrahim Mugulusi to restore BUL’s comfortable lead. The forward later completed his hat-trick in the closing stages of the game, scoring in the 89th minute after being set up by Ndugwa to seal an emphatic win for the Eastern Giants.

The result means BUL have now completed a league double over Calvary this season, having also edged the newcomers 1-0 in the first-round meeting played in Yumbe. For Calvary, the heavy defeat further underlines their struggles in their debut campaign in the top flight as they continue searching for a turnaround in form.
