Sunny Magezi Academy, operating under the motto “Where Every Child Shines,” celebrated a major milestone with its first-ever Media, Class
and Visitation Day at its campus in Kinuuma Village, Masindi District.

The event brought together parents, partners, teachers and pupils in a vibrant
showcase of learning, growth and community spirit. It marked a defining moment for
the institution, which has quickly grown into a nurturing and inclusive learning
environment.

“This was not just about showcasing the school,” said Principal Shirley Akeso about the
UEFA Foundation For Children – SREP project. “It was about opening our hearts and our
work to the community and letting them see the journey we have started together.”

The milestone also drew praise from international partners. Carine N’koué, General
Secretary of the UEFA Foundation for Children, highlighted the emotional impact of the school’s progress.

“The testimonial from a child saying ‘this is our school’ shows it all. It reflects the sense of
belonging and dignity you have cultivated,” she noted.

Parents equally expressed satisfaction with the school’s impact. Prescious Kunihira, a
parent, praised the academy for nurturing confidence and growth in learners.

“The environment is calm, the teachers are encouraging, and my child now loves
school,” said the mother of pupil Harold Grant Kabuye.

Currently, the school hosts 35 learners, including six in boarding section, supported by six teachers, with classes ranging from Baby Class to Primary Three. Expansion plans, including additional classes and infrastructure such as a perimeter fence, are already underway.

Sunny Magezi Academy remains open for enrollment as it continues to build a strong foundation for holistic education in Masindi and beyond.
