Kampani Eagles Rugby Club is one step away from returning to the Nile Special Rugby Premiership.

This follows their 16-10 defeat of their  fierce   rival and pre-central league favourites Rams at the Graveyard ground in Makerere.

The Eagles booked a slot in the regional finals which will have the top performers  qualify for the Premiership next season. The Elimination of Rams is a big statement to Eagles whose main agenda is to return to the Premiership they were relegated last year in 2024.

“It is not yet over, but this win is a message and statement that we are on the right course of achieving our target which is returning to the premiership,” Fahad Matovu the club coach said.

“What we need to do is work on our game management and players coordination before the final play-offs,” He added.

Willy Araptai scored a try, conversion and penalty for the Eagles in a tightly contested final while Hossana Opilion managed a penalty, and Bakali Muhozi (try), Ryan Juko converted before but time was not enough to overturn the scores.
