With only a few days remaining before the kickoff of the third edition of the Hamz Cup, Bakuli Car Dealers have officially unveiled their squad and jerseys ahead of the tournament’s opening matches scheduled for Saturday, June 6.
The unveiling ceremony was held on Tuesday, June 2, at Bakuli along Hoima Road in Kampala. During the event, team proprietor Hamuza Ntambi urged his players to remain focused and ambitious as they prepare for the competition.
“We cannot settle for less,” Ntambi said. “We are targeting the championship, but to achieve that, we must play good football and overcome every team we face on our journey to the trophy.”
Bakuli Car Dealers will face Life Team FC in the late kickoff at 7:00 p.m. on the tournament’s opening day. Earlier in the day, Sanyu D Bags will take on Mutaasa Kafeero FC at 4:00 p.m.
The event was attended by Hamz Cup Technical Officer Hakim Kasirye, who praised the club for its preparations and commitment to the tournament.
“This is a great initiative by Bakuli Car Dealers,” Kasirye said. “As organizers, we are ready to kick off this year’s edition.
The tournament aims to develop football talent while also benefiting the wider community. Teams will utilize transport services and other goods and services available in the local market, creating opportunities for business growth.”
This year’s Hamz Cup features 32 teams divided into eight groups. Bakuli Car Dealers have been drawn in Group H alongside Ngeye Transporters, Life Team FC, and Best of the Best.
The top two teams from each group will qualify for the Round of 16, where they will be paired through a draw to determine the knockout-stage fixtures.
Bakuli Car Dealers will be hoping to make a strong start when they face Life Team FC as they begin their quest for the Hamz Cup title.
