Ugandan representatives Vipers SC have exited the CECAFA Kagame Cup at the group stage following a competitive campaign that ultimately fell short of securing a semifinal spot.
The Venoms delivered notable moments during their three fixtures, finishing with five goals scored—a tally matching eventual semifinalists Singida Black Stars and APR FC.
Farouk Miya provided one of the tournament’s highlights early on by scoring a 17th-minute free kick against CF Garde Republicaine, placing among the fastest goals of the round.
Defensively, goalkeeper Loyce Marius Mbaba kept two clean sheets in three games, positioning Vipers alongside top regional sides like Al-Hilal Omdurman, Gor Mahia, Jamus SC, and Simba SC in total shutouts.
Despite their defensive resistance and scoring three first-half and two second-half goals, Vipers were unable to advance past the group stage.
The team now turns its focus back to CAF Champions League and domestic preparations as the remaining four regional clubs prepare for the semifinals.
