Uganda’s run in the main bracket of the 2026 CAVB Women’s African Nations Volleyball Championship came to an end on Tuesday morning.
This follows a 3-0 straight-sets defeat (25-18, 25-20, 25-18) against Cameroon at the Kasarani Indoor Arena in Nairobi.

Set 1 (25-18): Cameroon set the tempo early with clean reception (62%), forcing Uganda into baseline defense.
While Uganda kept pace on kills (12 to 11), 3 opponent errors and defensive blocks proved pivotal for the West Africans to seal the opening set.
Set 2 (25-20): The second set delivered the most competitive exchanges of the afternoon.
Uganda pushed hard with 23 kills to Cameroon’s 24, but unforced errors proved costly, handing Cameroon 20 points off errors to close out the frame.
Set 3 (25-18): The Volleyball Lionesses asserted control at the net, racking up 10 blocks to Uganda’s 7 and taking advantage of 26 opponent errors to comfortably lock up the match 3-0.
What Comes Next:Cameroon advances directly to the semifinals scheduled for September 3, where they will await the winner of the quarterfinal clash between host nation Kenya and Algeria.
Uganda drops into the placement playoffs, where they will battle in the classification matches to secure their highest possible ranking in the continental tournament.
