The Welshman remains top of the standings after finishing fourth in Paraguay, but saw his lead slashed to just 20 points with three rounds remaining. Three bonus points from the Power Stage were not enough to leave Evans satisfied with his weekend.
PAJARI: FROM FIRST WIN TO TITLE CONTENDER
Sami Pajari arrives at Rally Chile Bio Bío on 196 points and with extraordinary momentum.
The Finn has won three consecutive rallies in Estonia, Finland and Paraguay – becoming the first driver in WRC history to claim his first three career wins back-to-back. Only a few weeks ago, he was still chasing his maiden victory. Now, he is a genuine world title contender.
Pajari has also extended his gap over Oliver Solberg, who sits 21 points adrift of second place.
SOLBERG KEEPS TITLE HOPES ALIVE
Oliver Solberg remains mathematically in contention. His remarkable recovery drive in Paraguay lifts him above Takamoto Katsuta and into third on 175 points.
Behind them, Adrien Fourmaux moves one point ahead of Sébastien Ogier in the battle for fifth, while defending champion Thierry Neuville remains seventh on 129 points.
