The virtual rally stages are live again. The FMU Esports Championship has returned bigger and better for 2026, with a major boost in the driving seat.
The Federation of Motorsport Clubs of Uganda (FMU) and the Motor Sports Association Club (MOSAC) today announced thinkIT as the lead naming sponsor and digital partner for this year’s championship.
The series was officially launched today at FunStation Hub, Naalya, with a clear vision: to create a clear pathway for young Ugandan competitors to engage with motorsport through immersive digital competition, develop their skills, and be part of a growing community that celebrates discipline, innovation and opportunity.
Now in its second season after a successful debut last year, the 2026 championship will once again focus exclusively on WRC rally simulation – bringing together Uganda’s fast-growing community of sim racers for a competitive, structured and authentic rally experience.
The format will feature multiple rounds, a national leaderboard, and a grand finale to crown Uganda’s best virtual rally driver.
Action starts immediately, with Round One set for this Sunday on the high-speed, unforgiving turns of Germany – a stage that will test precision and bravery from the very first corner.
Last year, Mutyaba Katende ‘Jua Kali’ dominated the series, collecting a perfect 200 points from 4 rounds to become the inaugural champion.
