Gomba and Kyaggwe have booked their places in the 2026 Masaza Cup final after overcoming Butambala and Bugerere respectively in the semifinals.
Kyaggwe secured their place in the final after holding Bugerere to a goalless draw in the second leg at Ntejeru Stadium on Sunday.

Kyaggwe advanced 1–0 on aggregate, having won the first leg courtesy of Ronnie Ziraba’s decisive goal.
Ziraba came off the bench to become the hero for Kyaggwe, scoring the only goal of the first-leg encounter in the Kansai Plascon-powered 2026 Masaza Cup semifinals.

The result sends Kyaggwe into their second Masaza Cup final. Their previous appearance came in 2024, when they lost 1–0 to Buddu in the final at Mandela National Stadium, Namboole.
Gomba, meanwhile, sealed their place in the final with a 3–0 aggregate victory over Butambala.

The Lions won the second leg 1–0 at Kibibi SS Stadium, with Hassan Waiswa scoring in the 44th minute, just before half-time, to silence the home supporters and effectively end Butambala’s hopes of a comeback.
Gomba had already established a strong advantage in the first leg and comfortably completed the job over the two matches.

The Lions are the record five-time winners of the Masaza Cup, having lifted the trophy in 2004, 2009, 2014, 2017 and 2020. They will now be aiming to extend that record to six titles.
The 2026 final will be Gomba’s 11th appearance in the Masaza Cup final.

Their most recent triumph came in 2020, when they defeated Buddu 3–1 at Kitende.
Head coach Felix Ssekabuza will also be seeking another Masaza Cup triumph.
He was part of the Busiro technical team that won the competition last year and will now have the opportunity to claim back-to-back titles with different teams.
Gomba and Kyaggwe will meet in the 2026 Masaza Cup final on October 31 at Muteesa II Stadium, Wankulukuku.
