The future is now — and his name is Ethan Paul Musede.
The 12-year-old motocross prodigy is set to take center stage this Sunday at Garuga Race Park as he chases championship glory in the explosive final round of the Mountain Dew National Motocross Championship Round 7.
Ethan heads into the decider carrying massive momentum. After huge victories earlier this season in Mityana, he has closed the gap and put himself firmly in title contention.
FROM 65CC KING TO 85CC CONTENDER
Last season, Ethan was crowned MX 65cc National Champion. For 2026, he took the brave step up to the highly competitive MX 85cc class — and he hasn’t looked out of place.
He goes into the Garuga finale locked in a fierce, head-to-head battle, sitting second overall behind championship leader Jonathan Katende. One race. One winner. Everything to ride for.
“I’m very confident heading into Garuga. I’m going for the top podium,” Ethan said ahead of the finale.
MADE FOR THE WORLD STAGE
This is no ordinary youngster. Ethan already has international colours on his resume.
In 2025, he represented Uganda alongside Jamairah Makumbi at the FIM Junior World Championship in Romagné, France in the 65cc class, where Uganda and South Africa were the only African nations present.
He then stamped his authority regionally at the 2025 FIM Central Africa Championship in Naivasha, Kenya, winning the 65cc class as his brother Jude took silver — a result that powered Uganda to its 12th regional title.
FAMILY AFFAIR AT GARUGA
Garuga will be a Musede family showdown. Ethan will share the massive grid of over 80 confirmed riders with his brothers:
- Jude Kyle Musede — leading the MX 65cc championship standings
- Eadric Musede — sitting 5th in the same category
All three are managed by their father, Counsel Paul Musede.
But Garuga will show no mercy. For Ethan, the equation is simple — beat Katende on the day, and the championship crown could be his.
Can the 12-year-old sensation pull off the ultimate comeback and snatch the title?
