The 2025 USSSA U20 Boy’s Football Most Valuable Player (MVP) Owen Mukisa has completed his move to the three times Masaza Cup champions, Mawokota ahead of the quarter finals this Sunday against Ssingo.

Mukisa who now trains with Mawokota, yesterday featured for them in a friendly against Nkumba University in Entebbe.

Mukisa won USSSA U20 Boy’s Football championshi with Buddo SS.

The talented left foot attacking midfielder was instrumental in Buddo Secondary School Victory to Clinch their third USSSA U20 Boy’s Football championship in Ngora District. They won the trophy in a nervy 6-5 penalty victory after normal time had ended goal-less at the Ngora High School playground on May 14, 2025.

In the USSSA U20 Boy’s Football championship, Mukisa netted three goal for Buddo SS and was also the 2023 CECAFA U-15 Boys football championship MVP in Uganda

He was the MVP at CECAFA U15 in 2023.

Mukisa who confirmed to Rora media sports that has also joined St Mary’s Kitende from Buddo SS stated:

“I am happy to be at Mawokota. The fourth trophy is a demand and we all have to work collectively to achieve this,” Mukisa reveals.

“We are ready as players and come into the quarter finals game against Ssingo this Sunday thinking about three points. We need to win behind our fans and hopefully, they will be here to cheer us on,” said Owen .

The new head coach of Mawokota, Hussein Kato who replaced David Katono Mutono is tasked to ensure that coveted Buganda Masaza Cup trophy returns to Mawokota after years of agony. Mawokota will be aiming there fourth title having won three titles since 2004 following triumphs in 2005, 2007 and 2013.
