The Ugandan badminton duo, Fadillah Shamika Mohamed Rafi and Tracy Naluwooza, secured silver medals in the women’s doubles category at the 2025 Uganda International Series Badminton Tournament. They lost 2-0 to Switzerland’s Jenjira Stadelmann and Leila Zarrouk in the final.
In the tournament, Malaysian badminton players excelled, winning 10 medals (4 gold, 2 silver, and 4 bronze), followed by India with 1 gold, 4 silver, and 5 bronze medals.
Uganda won 6 medals (2 silver and 4 bronze), with Shamika Fadilah and Tracy Naluwooza’s silver medal in women’s doubles being one of the highlights.
Fadilah Shamika attributed their silver medal win to rigorous training and correcting mistakes. She emphasized the importance of continuous practice, especially with upcoming challenges like the East Africa City Tyres Challenge. The duo plans to maintain their fitness and readiness through a month-long training camp.
