KCCA turn to BUL test as Magera demands precision over praise

KCCA FC may have left Kamwenge with maximum points, but co-head coach Jackson Magera has shifted the conversation from celebration to correction as the Cityzens gear up for a demanding trip to Njeru this Saturday to face BUL in the Uganda Premier League.

Rather than dwelling on the comeback victory over Mbarara City, Magera framed the result as a reminder of the team’s ambitions and the standards required to meet them. He noted that the win was less about brilliance and more about resilience, a trait he insists must now be matched by sharper execution.

“Our response after being pegged back was impressive,” he acknowledged, “but the manner in which we conceded is not something we can afford to repeat.”

For Magera, the Kamwenge performance offered both reassurance and warning. Herbert Achayi’s influential outing a goal and an assist reinforced why the club moved to bring him back, while Ivan Ahimbisibwe’s scoring streak has deepened KCCA’s attacking threat. With five goals in eight league games, the forward has quickly become one of the league’s most reliable finishers.

But individual heroics, Magera insisted, cannot overshadow the work ahead.

As BUL FC awaits in Njeru, the coach has turned the spotlight to collective discipline, structure and readiness. He described the upcoming encounter as one where every detail will matter, stressing that KCCA must elevate their level if they are to maintain momentum in the Uganda Premier League.

“It will be a tough match in Njeru, and we must approach it with the right focus,” he said. “Everyone has to be at their best.”

With the victory in Kamwenge already filed away, KCCA now enter the BUL challenge with a blend of confidence and caution a recognition that fighting spirit has carried them this far, but precision will determine how far they can go.
