A dramatic downpour, shifting momentum, and two determined sides defined a gripping 2–2 showdown as Buhimba United and UPDF battled to a stalemate at Royals Park, Butema on Wednesday.

In a contest where the weather nearly stole the show, UPDF struck first through a beautifully curled free kick by Ssekamatte Kayongo in the 20th minute. But just as the match settled, heavy rain forced a halt in the 37th minute, sending players and fans into a 30-minute wait.

The restart injected fresh life into Buhimba. Edson Agondeze struck almost immediately, equalising to energise the home crowd. But UPDF restored control at the hour mark, with Daniel Kitara finishing off a well-built move.

Buhimba, however, refused to fade. Agondeze, carrying the hosts on his shoulders, netted his second eight minutes later to secure a hard-fought point in the slippery conditions.

Despite the pulsating contest, both teams remain stuck in the lower half of the Uganda Premier League table—UPDF in 11th on 10 points, Buhimba in 14th with the same tally after 10 matches.
