Yasin Nasser and Ali Katumba, the dynamic duo of the Moil Rally Team, are basking in the glory of their historic win as the 2025 African Rally Champions.
This incredible achievement marks a 26-year wait for Uganda, since Charles Muhangi and Stephen Byaruhanga last lifted the continental crown in 1999.

The journey to this triumph was nothing short of thrilling, with Nasser and Katumba edging out Kenya’s Samman Vohra by a single point in the season-ending Mkwawa Rally in Morogoro, Tanzania. Nasser, a two-time Uganda national rally champion and ARC2 champion, showcased remarkable skill and determination, securing the title with a fourth-place finish and crucial power stage points.
Their victory was celebrated at the FIA Awards Gala in Tashkent, Uzbekistan, where they received their accolade alongside regional champions from across the world. The Moil Rally Team crew’s achievement has cemented Uganda’s return to the continent’s rally elite.

Looking ahead, Nasser and Katumba are eager to make more history, promising to continue fighting for the top spot.
This triumph is a testament to Nasser and Katumba’s unwavering dedication and passion for rallying. Uganda is proud of their champions, and we can’t wait to see what’s next for this talented duo!

What an amazing achievement for Yasin and Ali! It’s fantastic to see their hard work pay off.
