JINJA – In a move that has sent shockwaves through the Uganda Premier League, BUL Football Club has officially parted ways with Head Coach Bogere Abbey Kikomeko with immediate effect.

The decision, announced on Wednesday, December 17, 2025, comes after a comprehensive review of the team’s recent performance. According to an official press release signed by CEO Joseph Mutaka, the team’s recent outings fell short of the club’s “technical and competitive expectations”.

Total Technical Overhaul
The club hasn’t just stopped at the head coach. In a rare and bold move, the entire senior team backroom staff has been indefinitely suspended. This sweeping suspension surprisingly includes the team doctors, as the club begins a massive internal restructuring of its entire technical department.

The Interim Solution
To fill the vacuum, the Jinja-based “Eastern Giants” have promoted their Junior Team Technical Staff to take immediate charge of the senior squad. The interim technical team will be led by: Daniel Kabale (Head), Michael Sebagala, Magada Kenneth and Fred Batwala.

The club management stated that these appointments are aimed at restoring performance and competitiveness while they search for a permanent technical team.

End of the Kikomeko Era
Coach Abbey Kikomeko, known for his tactical discipline, leaves the club with management thanking him for his services and wishing him well in his future endeavors. However, for a club with title ambitions like BUL FC, the recent dip in form was clearly more than the board could stomach.

As the “Eastern Giants” look to find their footing again, the big question remains: Who is the right man to lead BUL FC back to its glory days.
