Nairobi, Kenya – Kariobangi Sharks finally found their bite on Thursday afternoon, securing a hard-fought 1-0 victory over Bidco United at the Kasarani Annex. In a match that seemed destined for a goalless stalemate, Humphrey Oroko emerged as the hero, netting an 85th-minute winner to end a grueling winless streak for the Slum Boys.

The Breakthrough
The Sharks entered the contest under immense pressure, having gone eight matches without a victory. Their last taste of success dated back to early October, a 2-1 win against Mathare United.

For much of Thursday’s encounter, it looked like that drought would continue as Bidco United’s compact defense frustrated the Sharks’ attackers.

However, with five minutes of regulation time remaining, Oroko got on a sole run and found the space he needed to slot home the decisive goal, sparking wild celebrations on the Sharks’ bench and ending over two months of frustration.

Table Implications
Despite the three points, the road to recovery remains long for Kariobangi Sharks. The win was not enough to pull them out of the basement of the Kenyan Premier League (KPL) table.

The Sharks remain rooted in 18th place with 11 points, now just three points behind Bidco United, who sit in 15th.
