UPPC FC secured a hard-fought 1–0 victory over Kitara FC in a Uganda Premier League Matchday 11 encounter played at Bugonga Fisheries Ground in Entebbe.

The hosts dominated possession for large spells of the first half and were rewarded in the 34th minute when John Kokas Alou broke the deadlock. A slick passing move involving Hassan Ssenyonjo and Isa Mubiru teed up Kokas, whose well-placed strike left goalkeeper Kibiriige rooted.

Kitara showed more urgency after the break and introduced several substitutions in search of an equaliser, but UPPC remained organised and disciplined at the back. The visitors’ best chance came late on when they were awarded a penalty in the 83rd minute after Jasper Aheebwa was fouled by Jonathan Odongo. However, substitute Emmanuel Alex Wasswa blazed the spot kick wide, letting UPPC off the hook.

UPPC managed the closing stages well despite late pressure and four minutes of added time, holding on for all three points.
The victory lifts UPPC to fifth place on 20 points, while Kitara drop to sixth with 19 points. KCCA FC remain top of the table with 26 points.

What a fantastic win for UPPC! It’s great to see such a determined performance from both teams.
