BUL Football Club has announced the return of Alex Isabirye as team manager, signing a two-year renewable deal and taking charge immediately. He succeeds Abbey Kikomeko Bogere, who left the club just under two weeks ago.

Isabirye faces the challenge of lifting the Eastern Giants from 12th place in the Uganda Premier League, with only 10 points from 11 games. Details of his supporting backroom staff will be shared soon.

This marks a homecoming for Isabirye, who first led BUL FC between 2015 and 2016, earning praise for his professionalism and dedication. He returned in April 2021 to finish the 2020/21 season and quickly earned a new two-year contract. Under his guidance, the club captured the Uganda Cup and made its debut in the CAF Confederation Cup.

Since leaving BUL in 2023, Isabirye has enjoyed further success at Vipers SC, winning a league and cup double. His decorated coaching career also includes Uganda Cup triumphs with SC Victoria University, a league title with URA FC, and stints at Nyamityobora, Kyetume, Busoga United, Tooro United, Express FC, Somalia’s Horseed, and the Buganda team in the FUFA Drum tournament.

Isabirye’s first match back in charge is set for January 7, 2026, against Calvary. Fans will be hoping his return sparks a resurgence for the Eastern Giants.
