Allan Okello wasted no time making an impact at Young Africans SC, turning his debut into a statement performance that showcased why he is one of East Africa’s brightest midfield talents.

Just days after leaving Vipers SC, the Ugandan playmaker helped Yanga dismantle Mashujaa FC 6–0 in the Tanzanian Premier League on Monday. While the scoreline reflected Yanga’s dominance, Okello’s seamless integration and influence on the game were the real highlights.

Operating high on the right, Okello dictated play, linking attacks with precision and commanding set-piece duties. His sharp free-kick set up fellow debutant Laurindo Dilson Depu for the team’s sixth goal, capping a display that combined vision, composure, and tactical awareness.

Yanga raced ahead early through Camara Damaro, with Duke Abuya, Pacome Zouzoua, Prince Dube, and Mudathir Abbas adding to the rout. Yet Okello’s presence was felt throughout, his movement and creativity lifting the team’s rhythm and unsettling the opposition’s defense.

The win maintains Yanga atop the league with 19 points from seven games, two clear of JKT Tanzania, while Mashujaa continue to trail in fourth.

Looking ahead, Okello now turns his attention to the CAF Champions League, where Yanga face African giants Al Ahly in Cairo on Friday. If his debut is anything to go by, the Ugandan maestro is ready for the continent’s big stage.
