“I’m here to put a smile on the fans’ faces and help Kitara win silverware,” declared new Kitara FC striker Shaban Muhammad at his official unveiling on Friday. The Uganda Cranes forward expressed excitement about joining a club he describes as “very big” and ambitious.

Shaban was clear about his mission: “First of all, I’m very happy to be at this club. Kitara is a very big club and I’m proud to be part of their journey. I’m going to work with my teammates to see that we put a smile on the fans’ faces.”

The striker emphasized that success would be a collective effort, not an individual pursuit. “Kitara is at a level where we are competing to win. We want to fight and win the league and the Stanbic Uganda Cup. I believe if we work together as a team, we are capable of winning trophies.”

Shaban arrives with a wealth of experience across Africa, having played for Raja Casablanca in Morocco, Al Hilal Benghazi and Al Anwar in Libya, Ethiopian Coffee, and domestically with Vipers SC, KCCA FC, and Onduparaka FC.

Joining him are Edson Agondeze and left-footed winger Kabon Living, bolstering Kitara’s squad as the Royals aim for silverware. Agondeze, returning for a second stint at Kitara, netted six goals during the first round for Buhimba United Saints.

The trio’s signing signals Kitara’s intent in a season where they trail Vipers SC by just two points. The Royals will host Entebbe UPPC FC in the Stanbic Uganda Cup on Tuesday at Royals Park, Butema, with new additions expected to make an immediate impact.
