The 2026 WRC Safari Rally lived up to its reputation as the “world’s toughest rally,” delivering a weekend of grueling conditions that tested the Ugandan contingent to their absolute limits.

While the fesh-fesh and rocky terrain of Hell’s Gate forced some of Ugandan icons brightest stars into early retirements, Oscar Ntambi emerged as the hero for Team Uganda.
Driving a Mitsubishi Lancer Evo X, Ntambi showed incredible composure to finish 22nd overall. In a rally where survival is as important as speed, his consistent performance saw him navigate the punishing 19 stages to bring home a solid result, proving once again that Ugandan grit is a force to be reckoned with on the continental stage.

It was, however, a weekend of “what could have been” for Uganda’s top championship contenders.
Yasin Nasser, the reigning African Champion, saw his campaign cut short on Friday due to mechanical issues, while Duncan Mubiru despite his immense experience on Kenyan soil—faced a difficult outing that hampered his push for the top spots.

Despite the setbacks, the presence of the Ugandan fans in Naivasha was felt. With the rally season moving forward, the focus now shifts back to the National Rally Championship (NRC), where the drivers will look to bounce back from the dust of Naivasha.

That’s incredible to see Uganda represented so strongly. It really is a legendary event, isn’t it?
So interesting results big up our own Oscar don’t give up May God opens ur dreams
