URA FC showed resilience to salvage a dramatic 2-2 draw against Maroons FC under the floodlights at Hamz Stadium, Nakivubo, in a pulsating Matchday 26 clash.

In a contest full of momentum swings, Maroons looked on course for victory after taking the lead on two separate occasions, only for URA to claw their way back each time and deny the visitors a crucial win.

Maroons struck first in the 22nd minute when Ivan Mayanja rose highest to head home from a Brian Nkuubi set piece. Their joy was short-lived, though, as URA responded almost immediately—Bruno Bunyaga finishing off a well-delivered ball from Disan Galiwango to restore parity before halftime.

The second half carried the same intensity, with chances at both ends. Maroons nearly edged ahead early on, but Ronald Otti produced a vital goal-line clearance to keep URA level.

The breakthrough eventually came on the hour mark when Darius Ojok, making his first appearance of the season, announced his return in style with a powerful strike to put Maroons back in front. However, his impact was cut short as he was substituted shortly after, with the team managing his comeback from injury.

URA refused to fold. With 20 minutes left, former Maroons forward Fred Amaku came back to haunt his old side, netting the equaliser to ensure the points were shared—mirroring the goalless stalemate in the reverse fixture.

The result extends URA’s winless run to six matches, leaving them 11th on 25 points and still looking over their shoulders. Maroons, meanwhile, climb to eighth with 34 points, level with BUL but ahead on goal difference.

Looking ahead, Maroons face a tough away test against KCCA FC on May 7, while URA will be on the road again against Vipers SC in Kitende a day later. Meanwhile, Matchday 26 action continues with several fixtures lined up across the country.
