Ridge Way Primary School in Matugga is set to host the inaugural Wakiso District Kabaddi Championship from 20th to 21st June, bringing together schools from across the district in a competition that will determine qualification for the USSSA Ball Games II.
The championship, organized by the Wakiso District Kabaddi Association in partnership with the Uganda Kabaddi Federation, is expected to attract more than 11 schools.
According to the organizers, only four schools will qualify from the district championship to represent Wakiso at the next stage of the USSSA Ball Games II competitions.
This marks the first kabaddi championship of its kind to be organized in Wakiso District, highlighting the growing popularity and development of the sport in schools.
The championship is expected to provide a platform for young athletes to showcase their talent while promoting the growth of kabaddi within Wakiso District and Uganda at large.
