Fresh off their triumph in the 2026 FUFA Super 8, Kampala Capital City Authority Football Club (KCCA FC) have arrived in Nairobi, Kenya, ahead of a high-profile international friendly match against Kenyan giants AFC Leopards this Saturday.

The Kasasiro Boys made the long road trip from Kampala to Nairobi by team bus on Friday morning.

Upon arrival, the squad immediately engaged in light recovery and stretching sessions to shake off travel fatigue and prepare for the physical encounter at the Ulinzi Complex Stadium.

KCCA FC enter the international friendly with high morale following their victory in the 2026 FUFA Super 8 tournament.

The Lugogo-based side secured the trophy after edging NEC FC 1–0 in a tightly contested final at the iconic Hamz Stadium, Nakivubo.

The decisive moment came in the first half when tournament Most Valuable Player (MVP) Saidi Mayanja coolly converted from the penalty spot to seal the victory.

Mayanja’s standout performances throughout the tournament have solidified his role as a key playmaker for the club heading into the new season.

Speaking ahead of the journey to Kenya, KCCA FC Head Coach Brian Ssenyondo underscored the importance of testing his team against regional heavyweights before the Startimes Uganda Premier League campaign kicks off.

“Winning the FUFA Super 8 gave us early momentum and confidence, but our focus must immediately shift to the longer road ahead,” Ssenyondo stated.

“Facing a team of AFC Leopards’ stature in Nairobi presents the exact intensity and tactical test we need before the league starts. It is not just about results; it is about building match sharpness, testing our chemistry under pressure, and ensuring the boys are physically and mentally ready for the demanding season ahead.”

With both clubs boasting rich histories and passionate fan bases, Saturday’s clash in Nairobi promises to provide a thrilling cross-border spectacle as KCCA FC fine-tunes its squad for domestic and regional ambitions.
