Kitara FC head coach Wasswa Bbosa is optimistic ahead of their Startimes Uganda Premier League encounter against NEC FC at Philip Omondi stadium this Thursday night under floodlights.

The Hoima based side aims to build on their recent 4-0 thrashing of the Kasasiro boys as they push to revive their season.

Wasswa Bbosa acknowledges the challenge ahead but remains confident in his squad’s preparation.

”We have done thorough preparations and our aim is to pick maximum points on today. Well, we know they are enjoying a good run this season especially at home but we want to close the gap on the top three by giving our best in the remaining games,” Bbosa noted.

In the recent head-to-head meetings across all competitions, NEC has come out victorious twice while Kitara has registered four wins.

George Senkaaba returns from suspension that saw him miss Kitara’s 4-0 win over KCCA last week. The forward’s return is a timely boost for the Royals and is expected to join Kabon Living, Jude Ssemugabi, Kaddu Patrick, Fred Amaku, Rogers Mugisha, Titus Ssematimba among others to inspire the Royals upfront.

NEC currently holds the 2nd position in the standings with 48 points, whilst the Royals sit 5th with 35 points.

Hussein Mbalangu’s side has secured 3 wins in their last 6 league matches whereas Kitara FC has emerged victorious in 4 of their last 6 games.

The hosts won the reverse fixture 2-1 in Hoima through Enock Ssebagala and Gaddafi Wahab goals. By then, Brian Ssenyondo was in charge at Kitara, however the visitors have tremendously improved since Bbosa’s appointment.

Elsewhere, struggling Mbale Heroes will visit SC Villa at Muteesa II Stadium while Police FC will take on Mbarara City FC at Kavumba Recreation Grounds.
