National Rally Championship (NRC) title contenders are in for another tough test as the Eastern Motor Club (EMC) Rally, scheduled to take place from July 10th to 12th in Jinja and Kayunga, will feature night sections.

According to Kees Kagolo, EMC President, the night section will cover a 12 km distance, concluding the event’s day one itinerary in Jinja.

A Return for Night Stages

The last night stage on the Ugandan rally scene was way back in 2016 during the SMC Masaka Rally, which was won by Posiano Lwakataka. Although there was an attempt to revive night stages last year during the UMC Fort Portal Rally, drivers opposed it due to safety concerns and challenging conditions.

Current NRC Standings

The 2025 NRC is currently led by Ronald Ssebuguzi with 142 points, followed closely by Musa Ssegaabwe (132.5 points) and Ponsiano Lwakataka (117 points). Duncan Mubiru Kikankane is fourth with 115 points, while Didas Masiko (112 points) and Yasin Nasser (110 points) occupy fifth and sixth positions, respectively.

EMC Rally Ahead

The EMC Jinja Rally is the fourth round of the NRC, and drivers will need to be at the top of their game to navigate the challenging course, including the night section. With the championship heating up, the EMC Rally promises to be an exciting and unpredictable event.
