The Equity sponsored driver Dr. Mustapha Mukasa has re-united with Lawrence Mwambazi, the navigator who nearly took him to 2024 National Rally Championship glory.

Since October last year in Gulu during the CMC Rally, where they lost the championship with one event left on the calendar, the pair had never shared the cockpit again.

The misunderstandings which occurred in Gulu, led then the best cockpit partnership separate with EMC Rally re-uniting them.

After the EMC Rally entry list publication, a source close to the Drug Express, Equity Bank sponsored team revealed to Rora media sports that since the start of this year’s calendar, Dr. Mukasa who has used different co- drivers with different pace notes from the likes of Geofrey Sserwoga, and Hajji Omar Mayanja, has been yarning for better performances.

“Not yet confirmed if the partnership is back forever or its only for this event but what we know is that as a team we’ve been missing that happiness they used to give us,” stated a one team die-hard.

When he left the Drug Express Rally Team, Mwambazi joined Simba Rally team where he has been navigating youngster Kevin Bebeto. His place in the Simba Rally Team will be filled by Siraj Kyambadde in the EMC Rally.

The Bugerere Stabex EMC rally, a highly anticipated fourth round of the National Rally Championship is set to take place in Jinja and Kayunga over this weekend starting from July 10th to 12th.
