URA FC renewed the services of midfielder Laban Tibita for two more years, following the player’s decision to extend his contract until June 2027.
Tibita, who joined the Tax Collectors from Busoga United in August 2023, has quickly grown into a central figure in URA’s midfield. In his two seasons with the club, the 23-year-old has notched up 10 assists and 7 goals across league and cup competitions, cementing his status as one of the team’s most reliable creative outlets.
Delighted with the renewal, Tibita said: “URA FC feels like home. I’m grateful to the coaches, management, and my teammates for their support. This new deal motivates me to give even more—to help us win silverware and elevate my game further.”
Known for his vision, control, and ability to unlock defences, Tibita has become a fan favourite. His tactical intelligence and comfort in multiple midfield roles make him a key piece in head coach Alex Isabirye’s plans moving forward.
Club CEO Allan Munaaba praised the midfielder’s impact stating; “Laban represents the professionalism and commitment we value at URA. His consistency speaks for itself, and we’re confident the best is yet to come from him.”
With the 2025/26 season approaching, Tibita’s contract extension is a clear signal of URA’s intent to build a competitive and stable squad for the challenges ahead.
