2025 Buganda Masaza Cup: Buvuma part ways with their Backroom coaching Staff

The Islander’s Buvuma Ssaza Team has confirmed the termination of their contract with their Backroom coaching Staff after five matches.

The statement that signed by Buvuma team manager Mr Kalumba Rojers , confirmed the dismissal of Coach Kato Owen from his position as team Head Coach, 1st assistant Denis watuke and goal keeper coach Kalama Godfrey takes over as his temporary replacement.

The letter,released by their head of communication Mr Hussein Dungu , reads: ” Buvuma Ssaza Team, has terminated the contract of three back room coaching Staff include coach Owen kato, Denis waluke and kalama Godfrey on mutual consent, ending the responsibilities previously assigned to him as the team’s head coach for 2025.

“Buvuma appreciate the time we spent with him, but the relationship has now ended.“Currently, Medi Vubya, has been given temporary coaching responsibilities for the Team.

“The team management requests supporters to remain patient and calm as they work through the transition before announced the new coach.”

The decision was reached following the losses in the three opening games of 2025 tournament winning one and draw one in five matches .

Buvuma drawn by Bugerere 1-1 in the opening match of the campaign match, then defeated Kyandodo1-0 in the second, while in their third match defeated by mawokota 3-0, then 1-0 lose against Bulemenzi and lastly lost to Buweekula 3-0.

At this time, the Buvuma Ssaza team is preparing to face Bugerere on the start of the masaza cup second round on 9th August 2025 in a match to be played at Magyo Ssaza grounds.
