The Walukuba Barbarians has successfully defended the 2025 Kabaka Coronation 7s title by defeating the higher-ranked Heathens RFC 19-5 in a tightly contested final played at Kyaddondo Rugby Club.
The tournament marked the opening leg of the 2025 Uganda 7s Series. Heathens opened the scoring with an early unconverted try to take a 5-0 lead. Walukuba responded before the break with a converted try to lead 7-5 at halftime.
They maintained the momentum in the second half with two more tries to seal a 19-5 full-time victory and retain the crown.
In the women’s final, Thunderbirds RFC overcame Walukuba Titans 15-0 to clinch the title. Titans had knocked out Avengers in the semis, while Thunderbirds saw off She Wolves in a hard-fought semifinal.
Both winners in men’s and women’s category for the 2025 Kabaka coronation 7s walk way with UGX 5 million while runners up took home 3 millions.
