Kitara FC’s squad transformation has gathered further momentum with the arrival of adventurous left back Sadiq Ssekyembe from Mbarara City FC on a two-year deal.

The Royals, who have been steadily assembling one of the most balanced squads in the Uganda Premier League, believe Ssekyembe’s arrival gives them both defensive assurance and attacking width down the flank. Club CEO Joshua Atugonza hailed him as “one of the finest left backs in the league and a valuable addition to the Royals family.”

For Ssekyembe, the move represents more than a change of club—it’s a new mission. “Joining Kitara is an honour. I want to win here, I want to make history with this team,” he said shortly after signing.

The 26-year-old brings with him a wealth of experience from a career that has seen him feature for Nakivubo Boys, Mengo United, Katwe United, Express FC, Gaddafi FC, Horseed SC in Somalia, and most recently Mbarara City.

As Kitara aim to establish themselves among the league’s true contenders, Ssekyembe’s versatility and experience are expected to play a central role in their pursuit of silverware.
