BUL FC have strengthened their defensive line with the acquisition of Kelvin Tah Barni, who has penned a two-year deal after completing a move from NEC Football Club.
At 26, Barni is no stranger to the Uganda Premier League, having built his reputation with stints at Nyamityobora, Kyetume, and most recently NEC. His arrival adds both experience and grit to the Eastern Giants’ backline as they gear up for the new campaign.
Speaking after the deal was confirmed, Barni could not hide his excitement about the challenge ahead. “Joining BUL is a big step for me. This is a club with ambition, and I am here to contribute to its success,” he said. “The goal is clear – to compete for silverware, especially the Uganda Premier League. With the quality in this squad, I believe it’s possible.”

Head coach Abbey Kikomeko hailed the new signing, describing Barni as the right man to fill a crucial gap in his squad. “We needed to reinforce our defence after departures last season, and Barni fit the profile perfectly. He is aggressive, disciplined, and brings the leadership we need at the back. We’re happy to have him on board,” Kikomeko noted.
The club has equally expressed delight at welcoming Barni into the fold, confident that his experience and character will shine in the famous yellow and green. As the Eastern Giants continue their build-up, all eyes will be on how quickly the defender settles and helps drive BUL towards their lofty ambitions.
