Kampala Club Limited in conjunction with the Uganda Squash Rackets Association yesterday evening has launched the second edition of the Kinyara Sugar Invitational Squash Tournament launched with increased sponsorship deal from 15 millions of last edition to 30 million Ugandan Shillings.

The colourful ceremony was graced by the Kinyara Sugar Limited Marketing manager Sekhar Veedhi, Uganda squash Rackets Association president Mr Tamwesigire John Bosco, Hon William Byaruhanga chairman organizing committee, Victor Odong, Kampala Club, the chairman (Kampala Club) Dr. David Kamukamaand Michael Kawooya among others.
The tournament that will officially kick off on 22nd to 27th September 2025 at Kampala Club courts were players from different parts the world showcasing their Skill and talent .
Over 100 participants expected to grace this year’s edition competing for cash prizes worth eight million shillings (From Quarter Finals to the winners).

In a press conference held at Kampala Club, the chairman (Kampala Club) Dr. David Kamukama applauded the sugar company for picking squash as a priority discipline. he implored the company to continue supporting sports.

Sekhar Veedhi, Kinyara Sugar Limited marketing manager, revealed that this tournament is geared towards a long-term partnership with Squash and Kampala club in general.
“Kinyara as a company is much delighted to be here at Kampala club to partner with Uganda Squash Rackets Association. This event brings young talents of Uganda, promotes health and we want to have a long-term partnership,” Sekhar noted.

John Bosco Tamwesigire, Chairman Uganda Squash Rackets Association (USRA) expressed delight upon the increased sponsorship deal.
“We are delighted to announce our continued support for sports, as we are particularly proud to be embarking on this exciting new title sponsorship of the Uganda Open squash tournament 2023. “Kampala Club is ready to host the tournament that has a couple of prizes especially cash, medals and trophies from the sponsors,” Tamwesigire stated.
The event will draw top players including among others; Paul Kadoma, Ivan Wasswa, Jonathan Wegamire, Michael Kawooya (Men) as Elizabeth Musimenta, Julian Ainomugisha and Joelia Mpomba compete in the women’s category.
