Preparations for the 2026 Africa Netball Cup and the Sydney 2027 Netball World Cup African Qualifiers have entered the final stretch, with host venue Kasarani Indoor Arena undergoing major upgrades ahead of the tournament set for September 19–26.
Installation of the specialized world-class wooden court commenced over the weekend, closely supervised by Netball Kenya President Ms.
Immaculate Kabutha to ensure international standards are met.
This marks the first time an East African nation is hosting a continental championship of this magnitude.

KEY PURPOSE: Africa Netball Cup + World Cup Sydney 2027 QualifiersWhile host nation Kenya and other regional rivals face high-stakes qualifiers for the final remaining spots for the Sydney 2027 World Cup, Uganda enters the showpiece in a comfortable position.
Ranked 6th globally and 2nd in Africa, the She Cranes have already secured automatic qualification for the 2027 Netball World Cup in Australia, alongside world number 5 South Africa, based on global rankings.
However, for coach Rashid Mubiru and his squad, the mission in Nairobi goes beyond qualification.
Having finished as runners-up to South Africa in the previous edition, Uganda travels across the border with one clear objective: dethroning the SPAR Proteas and bringing the Africa Netball Cup title home.

Ten nations will feature in the 8-day spectacle:
Pool 1: South Africa, Zimbabwe, Namibia, Botswana, Tanzania
Pool 2: Uganda, Malawi, Zambia, Kenya, Nigeria.
Uganda faces a tough Pool 2 line-up featuring old rivals Malawi, an energetic Zambian side, and hosts Kenya.
