Alex Kanabi from KCCA BC has been named the best boxer for August at the Site Monthly Sports Awards. Kanabi won the award after receiving 1,512 votes, accounting for 45.65% of the total votes. He beat out other top boxers, including Kato Kazibwe, Isaac Kasasa, Leon Kiggundu, and Nandawula Zahara.
Kanabi’s impressive win over Serugo Bashir (aka Horse Power) in the champions league week six earned him a spot on the nominees list. His victory was met with enthusiasm from his fans and family, including his elder sister, Phiona Nana.
The Site Monthly Sports Awards aim to recognize the best sporting individuals of the month in different disciplines. The awards are proudly sponsored by Wide Tours International and are not affiliated with any governing bodies. The CEO, Mr. Kakeeto Gonzaga, stated that the awards provide a platform for boxers to compete and win recognition for their outstanding performances.
After receiving his award, Kanabi expressed his delight, saying, “It’s my pleasure to win this accolade, my first time to be here, but this has been part of my dream. I believe it’s the start for me to win more accolades, and I’m also eyeing bigger awards.”
