The Uganda Premier League entrants, Calvary Football Club has announced that they have received an official invitation to participate in the 2025 Dire Cup, a prestigious preseason tournament hosted by Gofere, the club official kit manufacturers.
The tournament will take place in mid-August 2025 at the Diredawa International Stadium in Ethiopia. Organized in partnership with the Diredawa City Administration and Diredawa Football Federation, the Dire Cup brings together top clubs from across the continent to prepare for the new season.
Commenting on the invitation, Club CEO stated; “We are happy for the invite and the club wishes to be part of the tournament. It’s a good opportunity for our players to test themselves against top teams across the continent and also earn exposure as a club.”
The Yumbe-based Calvary FC were officially crowned winners of the 2024/2025 FUFA Big League on Sunday, 22nd June 2025, following their narrow 1-0 victory over Paidha Black Angels in the West Nile derby. Despite rain delays at Midigo Primary School, the match was concluded, sealing Calvary’s place at the summit with 52 points.
