After weeks of tense off-pitch wrangling and high-stakes legal battles, East Africa’s football faithful can finally breathe a sigh of relief.
The Football Kenya Federation (FKF) has officially cleared the way for the 2026/27 SportPesa Premier League season to kick off this weekend, starting Friday, October 9, 2026.
The campaign was initially delayed following court disputes over promotion and relegation regulations between the 2019 and 2025 FKF rules.
However, with legal hurdles cleared by the High Court, the focus across the region shifts back to the pitch, where title contenders, newly promoted sides, and regional stars prepare for battle.
