A roaring home crowd at the Kasarani Indoor Arena was silenced on Friday night as Egypt produced a masterclass performance to sweep host nation Kenya 3-0 (25-21, 25-15, 25-15) and clinch the 2026 CAVB Women’s African Nations Volleyball Championship.
The victory marks the Pharaohs’ first continental title since 2003, completing a flawless, dominant tournament run in which they did not drop a single set.
Kenya’s Malkia Strikers entered the final as defending champions, but Egypt’s tactical precision, relentless service pressure, and disciplined block line dismantled the hosts’ defense early.
A competitive first set saw both teams trade points until Egypt pulled away late to claim it 25-21.
Despite temporary rallies led by Kenya’s frontline in the second and third sets, Egypt took absolute control, wrapping up the final two sets 25-15, 25-15 to lift the trophy.

With the title, Egypt earned an automatic qualification spot for the LA28 Olympic Games in Los Angeles.

Earlier in the day at Kasarani, former champions Cameroon locked up the final podium spot with a convincing 3-0 victory over Rwanda in the third-place playoff.
The victory earned the Volleyball Lionesses the bronze medal, leaving Rwanda in fourth place.
