Reigning champions Buddu suffered their first loss under head coach Eric Kisuze, going down 1-0 to Buluuli in a highly anticipated Masaza Cup match. Kosea Kagga scored the winning goal, earning Buluuli three points and their second win in the tournament.

After the game, Kisuze described the loss as “a bad day in office,” citing missed chances and a lack of composure in the final third. Despite dominating possession, Buddu struggled to break down Buluuli’s resolute defense.

Kisuze remains confident that his team will bounce back stronger, emphasizing that the season is far from over. “It’s not the end of the Masaza Cup season. We still have five games to play in the second round. The season is a marathon, and we will bounce back stronger,” he said.

The defeat sees Buddu drop positions on the Bulange table with eight points after five games. Their next test comes after a one-week break when they host Buluuli at Kitovu Sports Arena.

Buluuli’s win marks their second victory in the tournament, and they will look to build on their momentum in the remaining matches. The match highlighted Buluuli’s defensive solidity and their ability to capitalize on scoring opportunities.
