FEZ, Morocco – Uganda Cranes head coach Paul Put has called on his squad to embrace the “impossible” as they prepare for a high-stakes showdown against group leaders Nigeria this Tuesday.

Facing a star-studded Super Eagles side that has already secured top spot in Group C with back-to-back wins, Put acknowledged the immense scale of the task ahead.

Despite the pressure, the Belgian tactician remains defiant, insisting that hard work can bridge the gap between the two sides. “It is going to be hard, but we have no choice but to give it our best,” Put stated during his pre-match address. “If we work hard, everything is possible.”

The Cranes currently sit at the bottom of Group C with one point following a 1-1 draw against Tanzania. To keep their hopes of advancing to the Round of 16 alive, Uganda must secure a victory against the three-time African champions. Put, who is managing his fifth AFCON tournament, emphasized that his team must reset their mindset and fight until the final whistle.
