The 2025 Kabaka coronation badminton Championship climaxed yesterday on Sunday evening at Lugogo Indoor Arena Kampala.
The tournament that attracted over 400 participants, ran for three days from Friday 8th to Sunday 10th and different categories has been showcasing the talent and skill of the participating teams.
The closing ceremony was graced by the Minister of arts, Youth and Sports Owek Ssaalongo Robert Serwanga, CEO Uganda badminton association Mr Simon Mugabi and Uganda Badminton Association president Mrs Annet Nakamya among others.
Uganda’s celebrated badminton star Muzafuru Lubega delivered a stellar performance at the inaugural Kabaka’s 32nd Coronation badminton Championship claimed gold in men’s singles and mixed doubles.
In the men’s singles professional final, Muzafuru defeated Kenneth comfort Mwambu in straight sets and also secured victory in mixed doubles partnering with Glads Mbabazi to defeat Kenneth comfort Mwambu and Tracy Naluwooza duo.
In the Coperate category events, Ndejje university won the trophy after beating City tyres on final followed by Supreme, Topmix , Equity bank and Cafe Javas .
